Cherryholmes “This is my son”

One of the constant debates I have these days is on the topic of pure patriotism and pure religion. We live in a word dominated by post modernist concepts and relative moralism.  President John Adams wrote :“Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.”  President George Washington said in his farewell address “Of all the dispositions and habits, which lead to political prosperity, Religion and Morality are indispensable supports. In vain would that man claim the tribute of Patriotism, who should labor to subvert these great pillars of human happiness, these firmest props of the duties of Men and Citizens” . Sadly religion and morality are afterthoughts in our society. Behaviors that were considered gross sins decades ago have been given new names in the quest to redefine what these behaviors are. Homosexuality becomes an alternative lifestyle, Adultery becomes an affair, and pornography becomes free speech. The attack on morality has been an onslaught. Religion has been in the gun sights for a while, but now the war is escalating. We have a congress and president who bow to the god of molech in the destruction of babies while they are still in the womb of their mothers. We see Christianity being watered down by the episcopalians, USA presbyterians(Not PCA, PCA is ok), and the lutherans who want to appoint homosexual clergy. Now for the newest attack by our government. If you have not heard, one of the entities of the homeland security office are numerous fusion centers. These centers are intelligence data collectors. A report was leaked out of the Missouri fusion centers on identifying domestic terrorists. One of the points in this report is having an identity based in Christianity. This report basically says if you believe the 2 party system does not work, believe in gun rights, and call yourself a Christian then you could be the next Oklahoma City bomber and should be watched. The founding fathers when drafting our constitution had no idea that we would abandon the God that they based their writings on. The constitution has not failed us, but we have failed our constitution. Now for the song, as I think of all of the liberal universities trying to ban recruiters from doing what they do this song tears my heart out. It is written from the viewpoint of a mother.
